Just to make myself clear, i gave this 7/10 because i really do like both movies, if i should be really honest after playing all kinds of Video Games past 15 years, this wouldn't pass over 5/10. This game's simply one time adventure, has by all means no repeating quality, while it's story takes place between Star Trek (2009) and Star Trek Into Darkness (2013), and from the look of it, Cpt.

Only delusional fans and gaming masochists will find entertainment here.Ī copy of the Xbox 360 version of the game was provided for review by the publisher. This is a perfect example that most of the games that come out when a huge movie is to hit cinemas can't be really good, because they either come AFTER the movie premieres, in this case they use to be better cause the STORY from the movie can be used, this is the other example, this game came out BEFORE the movie hit cinemas, it has different story, it's cliché driven, has, shame to say, GRAPHICS on the level of 2008, mediocre sound effects, no special awards or bonuses can be collected, no bonus material, musical score is pretty good though and intense when needed and as for the overall keyboard/mouse handling thats yet again just OK, BUT it has a spirit to it, and fans of Star Trek will enjoy this few hours short adventure ) There were tons of games in the past that came out when a huge movie was going to be released, most of them were BAD or MEDIOCRE at best, few were GOOD or REALLY GOOD, this is the MEDIOCRE case, you've got all your favorite characters lookalikes with the original cast voice-over, mostly they at least tried to deliver their lines properly, and as I'm a huge fan of Star Trek reboot, i would give this 7/10 just for the sake of it. I don’t have the time or space to list all of the flaws and design missteps I found in this title. While not completely broken, it’s a ragged experience where I felt I was influencing my character on screen, but not really controlling him. This game made me want to skip the new movie. The Star Trek game is supposed to take place between the 2009 reboot and the upcoming Star Trek: Into Darkness. There are a few scenes that are actually displayed via split screen, with the same cinematic happening on the top and bottom displays. Most of the action and cinematics are separated by a generic fade to a transitional load screen. Transitional cut scenes are either missing, or they may as well be. The overall presentation not only feels unpolished, it feels unfinished. They fill the role of a generic conquering alien race. They look like small generic dinosaurs and don’t add anything compelling to the story. One early scene has Kirk holding off the Gorn while Spock mends the captain’s busted lag. Seek out honor and glory with the new Star Trek Adventures: The Klingon Empire roleplaying game. Make it so, make it so, make it so Boldly Go. There are a few co-op specific scenarios where you’ll be glad you have a partner. Star Trek Online Welcomes You to Q's Winter Wonderland.

There are most likely other parts that will plague couch co-op, but I didn’t see them.

Honestly, I had a full screen view for the second half of the game. My co-op partner barely made it through one, and quit the game for good in the middle of another.

I was running blind in both those missions. The horizontal split makes it difficult, if not impossible, to see objectives above your character. The split screen implementation works against potential local co-op players in certain scenarios, mainly during a particular five minute space battle (the only space battle) and during the Frontier Station finale midway through the game. We never once used those abilities in the game. You can use your trusty tricorders to buff each other’s shields and weapons. Boost each other up to ledges, pry open doors, revive each other when someone goes down in combat. It’s a tired, straightforward third-person shooter as far as co-op is concerned. You can also leave your game open to the public if you fancy random experiences. Star Trek supports two player local co-op or two player online co-op. Overall the game was better with a partner.

While co-op made it bearable, even that had its own specific flaws. I finished this mofo hoping there would be some redeeming quality. Star Trek is made up of 11 chapters which are broken down into more. Keep in mind, I’m only in the second level of the game.
