Elites were lacking options but to me they were fine for the most part (I didn't play elite so I am not stating fact).Īs someone who has never played a Halo game online exept for Eldewrito, I have to agree. I remember every piece of armor (Halo 3) being used by somebody and there was no "cooler" looking varient since they were all so different. I think this was because there were so much armor variants in the game that they weren't as memorable as Halo 3's. To me, Reach's armor overall didn't stand out enough (The helmets were pretty good, some things stood out too much imo (that robotic arm)). This meant that some of the cooler and more unique pieces required month of grinding to reach the higher levels whilst making the beginning pieces uninspiring and easily forgettable. This made unlocking the armor more satisfying to me than grind mm games to get xp and currency and then buying pieces of armor only to grind some more to get more money. (Part of the reason may be that the colors in Halo 3 felt more vibrant than Reachs)Īnother reason why they were better was that in order to obtain the armor you had to find skulls, get achievements, get gamerscore, do cool things in matchmaking. Reach armor was not bad looking but personally I felt less attached to my armor and even more so to my enemies. Even though there was less customization than Reach, I think that each variant had more personality to it and made the variants stand out from one another. Imo I think that Halo 3 armor was the pinnacle.
